My Journey into Flower Preservation

As a first-time mom, my days were filled with the joys and challenges of caring for my newborn son. I found solace in the simple act of walking around our yard with him snugly strapped to me in a carrier. During these peaceful strolls, I began to appreciate a whole new side of nature's beauty-picking lavender and lilac to make lemonade, lounging under the enormous Japanese magnolia, and watching dogwood petals float by in the wind. Each bloom that caught my eye became a reminder of fleeting moments I wanted to hold onto forever.

As the seasons changed and my son grew, my passion evolved. What started as collecting beautiful flowers soon transformed into a quest for preservation. I realized that I wanted to capture not just the flowers themselves, but the memories and emotions they represented. This desire deepened when I reflected on the heartache of discarding the stunning flowers from my wedding. Watching those beautiful blooms being tossed away felt like losing a piece of my special day.

This sparked an idea: I could create a keepsake that would allow brides and others to cherish their flowers long after the event was over. Thus, The Design Delight was born-a company dedicated to celebrating life, love, and remembrance through the art of preserved floral design.

Each piece I create is not just a keepsake; it's a way to honor the beauty of significant moments.
